Winter Yachts established its presence with the commencement of building in the early 1980’s. It is a Winter’s Investments Ltd. company headquartered in Auckland, New Zealand. Winter is a part of the Marine Export Association in New Zealand called Marex. Winter offers mid-sized power catamarans that provide space of a larger yacht. Multihull construction is used by Winter, who is now focusing on a high-speed displacement catamaran design. This type of design lends itself to low horsepower for high speed, resulting in fuel-efficiency. The hull protects the propellers, and gives a smooth ride. Composite construction is used, allowing owners to enjoy the buoyancy benefits of the epoxy foam sandwich design. Projects developed by Winter have been, at largest, 105 feet in length.
