Description |

A regular participant in the Classic Regatta scene, you might have seen the elegant Cariba at Porto Cervo, Noularge, St Tropez or Palma de Mallorca. Built in 1930 in Chantier de la Liane, France believed for the Hennessy (Brandy) Family this Classic Staysail Schooner came into the present ownership in 1988 - when she was virtually re-born. A complete refit was performed over four years at the Cantieri Navali Beconcini Shipyard in La Spezia, Italy - with particular care to ensure all was in keeping with the original design. The mahogany pannelling below is quite outstanding.
She returned to that yard every winter for top quality annual maintenance. Now in Palma, this spring (2008) she is undergoing a further program of improvements including complete new rigging and new caulking to the teak decks.
Privately owned for family use, seldom will you find a Classic in such fine shape. Her Oak-on-Oak construction, professionally restored over the years - will surely give many years yet of faithful service. |
